MATTHAEUS was born on December 16th, 1760.  MATTHAEUS' father was MATTHAEUS AISENBREY and his mother was BARBARA MERKER.  His paternal grandparents were JOHANN BALTHASAR AISENBREY and MARIA KATHARINA ZELLER.  He had three brothers and two sisters, named GEORG MICHAEL, JOHANN, MATTHIAS, MARIA AUGUSTA and CATHARINA BARBARA.  He was the fourth oldest of the six children.  He had a half-brother and four half-sisters, named JOHANN GEORG, ANNA MARIA, MARIA BARBARA, DOROTHEA and ELIZABETH.  He died at the age of 76 on January 21st, 1837.
