SOPHIE was born on January 25th, 1923 in at home in Philadelpia,Pa..  SOPHIE's father was FRANCIS Joseph CONWAY and her mother was LOUISA M ROTH.  Her paternal grandparents are PETER CONWAY and MARY HESTER; her maternal grandfather is JOHN ROTH and her maternal grandmother was SOPHIA GEIST.  She had nine brothers and three sisters, named FRANCIS J, PETER P., ALEXANDER, JAMES, THOMAS JOSEPH, WILLIAM FRANCIS, JACK (EDWIN) (EDWARD J), WALTER, GEORGE FRANCIS, MARY HELEN, HELEN and ANNA VIRGINIA.  She is the twelfth oldest of the thirteen children.
