Jeremiah was born in 1733.  Jeremiah's father was James Veatch and his mother was Rachel Hepburn.  His paternal grandparents were Nathan Veitch and Ann Clagett.  He had six brothers named Nathan, Daniel, Ninian, James, John and Benjamin.  He is the youngest of the seven children.
